Inevitable - The Red 5

...they huddle closely together underneath a large tree for warmth. A fresh snow covers the landscape and the cold is bracing. Exhausted from running all night, pausing for a brief moment to watch the sun as it rises over the hills.

The stench of death still clinging to their nostrils. Bodies strewn across the cold ground like breadcrumbs tossed out for birds. The creeping pestilence showing no mercy, to no one, and to nothing. Houses and towns destroyed, wretched and broken.

The quiet is almost too much for them to bear, waiting silently as it slithers ever closer. No where to go and no one to save them.....
